Culture College Arnhem Land At ÌÇÐÄlogoÃ×·ÆÍà we are committed to enriching our cultural learning experiences by fostering deep connections with the Yolngu community. We have embarked on a partnership with an Aboriginal owned organisation, directed by Elders, to embed First Nations knowledge within the mainstream curriculum. Our students had the unique opportunity to fly to Nhulunbuy and spend time at Gulkula, the site of the Garma festival. Here they immersed themselves in the rich traditions and life of the Yolngu people. Over three nights spent at the Bukudal homeland, they engaged intimately with the local community, learning the Yolngu language, exploring kinship systems, and participating in traditional painting, dancing and fishing activities. This partnership is part of our ongoing effort to acknowledge and integrate First Nations knowledge systems into our curriculum, demonstrating our support for the important work being done by Culture College to create a balanced and reconciled Australian history through education.
